  • You are under arrest. 
  • John Peter Zenger wrote many New York Weekly Journals talking bad about the governor of New York.    
  • Hamilton Defense
  • The New York Weekly Journals were burned by the common Hangman ordered by the governor. 
  • Jury Decision
  • We find the defendant not guilty.  
  • He was arrested by the Sheriff and charged for putting in tons of seditious libels dispersed in the Journals. He was sent to the prison or common jail. 
  • Life with the 1st Amendant
  • Hamilton really touch the jury's heart with his speech. Also how every free man should have the liberty of freedom of speech.
  • The jury's verdict came as John Peter Zenger was found not guilty. 
  • People were able practice any religion they wanted. They also got the freedom of speech and talk about there opinion. They also got the right to be able to assemble in peace.
