Storyboard Text

  • I don't have anything nice, clothes, jewelry, nothing.
  • Honey, open this, I think this will cheer you up.
  • Here ya go
  • Thank you so much
  • Mathilde is sad because she doesn't have anything nice and everything that she has does not make her happy and she thinks she isn't pretty. Her husband shows her an invitation to a little party and he wants to take her to make her happy.
  • Oh No, the necklace, I can't find it!
  • Her husband gave up his money he was saving and gave it to his wife to buy a new dress, but she still thinks there is something missing. She goes to Madame Forestier and borrows a pretty shiny necklace.
  • The day of the party arrived and it was a big success. She was the prettiest woman there and all the men noticed her. She danced and forgot everything in the triumph of her beauty.
  • Oh, my poor, poor Mathilde! Mine was false. It was worth 500 francs at the most!
  • When rushing outside not wanting to put on her coat she got on the cab with her husband and turned out she lost the necklace she borrowed and was so worried. When she returned to give back the necklace she gave Madame Forestier a different one that looked just like it.
  • Mathilde worked ten years to get the money that would pay back for the necklace she lost. Her and her husband had gone poor just to pay for the necklace.
  • One day she saw Madame Forestier and decided to tell her what happened. Madame Forestier kinda laughed told her that the necklace was a fake and didn't even cost that much.
