The Whiskey Rebellion was the American farmers rebelling against Alexander Hamilton, because he put a tax on whiskey to help take care of national debts that needed to be payed.
When George Washington decided not to run for the presidential office again, he gave the following advice to future American leaders: don't form alliances with other countries, don't form political parties, and avoid rivalries between Northern and Southern countries. All together, this became known as his Farewell Address.
During the election of 1800, Thomas Jefferson's votes clearly beat out John Adams for presidential office, however Jefferson and Aaron Burr, who was running for vice president, both received the same amount of votes. The House of Representatives had to take a tie-breaking vote, in which Jefferson won.
