- Hey, Jill! We should go to the top of that building so we can see the whole city!
- That sounds like a great idea, Jack! I wonder how far of a climb it is.
- Jack and Jill find a challenge along the way.
- I hope there's an elevator! That way we don't have to climb all those stairs.
- Looks like the only way to get to the top is by going up the stairs.
- What does Jill know about that Jack may not?
- So, there were 58 stairs to get to the top. We'll be taking 58 stairs to get to the bottom. Since we went a positive 58 up, and we'll go a negative 58 down, does that mean we'll be traveling a total of 0 stairs? (58 - 58 = 0)
- Jack, we will have traveled a total of 116 stairs!
