Storyboard Text

  • Welcome to Rocking University
  • I love the igneous rock I found
  • What is an igneous rock?
  • WHAT?!?!
  • We have been learning the rock cycle for weeks now...
  • Igneous rock
  • Darla is excited about the rock she found while vacationing in Hawaii.  She went to the lava fields and found a lava rock...
  • Sedimentary rock
  • CARRRLLLL.....
  • Professor Sedi can not understand why any of the students would not know that an igneous rock is formed when hot magma is cooled.  Hawaii is a great place to find these rocks!!
  • Metamorphic rock
  • Magma (lava) comes out of the volcano.   When the lava cools and makes igneous rocks.
  • That, my dear students, is the rock cycle!!  Now lets look at that igneous rock!!
  • Over time weathering and erosion break down the igneous rocks and turn them into sediments.  Layers and layers of sediments eventually turn into sedimentary rocks.
  • With pressure and heat the sedimentary rocks will turn into metamorphic rock after many, many years.
  • Professor Sedi never gets tired of explaining the rock cycle to her students....
