Cain and Abel both gave there sacrifices to God by burning them. Abel gave his best new born lamb, Cain, on the other hand, gave his grain to God.
God accepted Abel's sacrifice, but rejected Cain's sacrifice. This was merely to test Cain if he could handle being jealous of his little brother.
God tells Cain - 'Do not be jealous of your brother. Sin is crouching at your door.'
What should I do? Perhaps God loves us both and just wants me to learn?
Cain learns from God and forgives his brother.
