  • You never do anything to help me.
  • Get the turkey yourself, ugh.
  • I forgot to bring home the turkey.
  • They call me old scratch.
  • Who are you?
  • I will get them myself.
  • There's talk of riches in the woods by Old Scratch.
  • Tom Walker and his wife argue a lot.
  • My wife is dead. I guess I'll sell my soul to the devil.
  • Tom meets the devil in the woods on his way home. The devil offers him riches for his soul.
  • I have been prosperous, but at what cost? Perhaps I should pick up a Bible.
  • When Tom's wife encourages him to sell his soul, he refuses. She decides to go find the devil and riches herself.
  • Your soul is mine!
  • When Tom goes into the forest, he finds his wife is dead and makes a deal with Old Scratch. He will become rich if he lends money for unreasonable rates, driving people to bankruptcy.
  • Though Tom Walker becomes rich, he begins to fear for his soul in the afterlife and becomes very religious.
  • The Devil comes for Tom Walker when he does not have his Bible and takes his soul.
