There were two major class differences in Rome, the Patriciansand the Plebeians. The Patricians were the wealthy landowners that ruled the Roman government, while the Plebeians were the poor merchants who got no rights.

Under Augustus' rule a new order began between A.D. 180, the Roman empire had a long period of peace,trade flourished and provinces were ruled in and orderly fashioned, however there was a huge divide between rich and poor.

There were two diffrent religions at one point in Rome. One was the Roman religion where they belived in multiple gods and the other was Christianity which only belived in one God.

In 287 B.C. all male citizens were supposedly equal under the law even though Rome was not a democracy. Rome however had the citizens choose representative fot their assembly, but the wealthy had majority.
