In this scene Stanley Yelnats is accused for stealing Clyde Livingston's cleats because they fall off a bridge and into his hands, while he was he walking home after school.
In this scene Stanley is asked if he would like to go to prison or camp green lake and of course he chose camp green lake because it sounded like the better option...
In this scene Stanley arrives at Camp Green Lake and realizes there is no lake, they are in the middle of the desert. Stanley meets his room mates and they give a pretty hard time.
In this scene Stanley starts to gain respect from the other boys and so X-ray(leader of group) steals sunflower seeds from Mr. Sir and Stanley decides to take the blame to maintain that respect and actually make friends with the other boys.
After Stanley is punished he comes back to finish up his digging for the day, but he realizes his hole is finished, and then everybody told him Zero(a quiet boy) did it. Stanley went to Zero and asked him why Zero said as long as you teach me how to read i'll dig your holes and Stanley agreed which started a great friendship.l
Stanley notices that the warden is getting more anxious everyday with the digging because after Stanley found a bullet in the sand he brought it to her and she got excited. Stanley realizes that this is more than a camp for discipline, they are searching for something.
