Alice you have to stop or you're going to die, don't you understand that?
Alice trying drugs for the first time with her friends after coming back to her hometown after her move.
Chris and Alice are running away from home together. They are going to Salt Lake City and then San Francisco.
Home sweet home.
The main conflict of this book was drug use and abuse. The main character struggled with drug use and her family always was there to try to help. She got clean many times but relapsed, it was a huge struggle for everyone who cared about her.
Resolution & Theme
The diarist's old friends drug her without her consent, giving her a "bad trip" and she hallucinates, loses control of herself and how she acts, and she is taken to a mental hospital.
The falling action is when Alice is released from the institution. She slowly gets back to her old life (the life she had before she started doing drugs), and she also slowly turns herself into a healthier person.
Alice was talking about her birthday and how excited she was about it, she was also talking about how she felt so good about herself. Then, unexpectedly, Alice overdoses and passes away. The theme is Difficulty of Communication because she rarely asked for help and talked about her problems.
