- In this scene, Della and Jim talk about all these expensive things that they don't actually have because they're poor. They were joking around about how they're actually poor.
- Tell the cook that the coffee is great.
- The cook is not here,I made it myself because I gave the servants the day off.
- Della and Jim go window shopping and Della sees these hair clips that she likes, but they're expensive for Jim.
- Oh look, Jim, they're so beautiful
- Della sees a place outside of her apartment where she can sell her hair.
- Hmmmm...
- Della cuts of her hair just to have the money to buy JIm his Christmas present.
- It's better if you close your eyes.
- Jim comes home to Della with her hair cut and is in shock that she would give up her hair to get him a strap for his watch. Della sees that he gave up his watch to get her hair clips.
- Both Jim and Della gave up something they loved, to give the person they love something for Christmas
- I love you too
- Jim, I love you
