"I can't get multiplying and dividing factions it's so hard", said Greg. "I know how to do it I'll help you", Ally replied.
You have to multiply the numerator by the numerator and the denominator by the denominator. If you are multiplying a fraction with a whole number, put a 1 under the whole number so it's a fraction.
1/2 x 3/4= ? 1/2 x 8 = ?
1/2 x 3/4 = 3/8 1/2 x 8 = 8/2 = 4
Now we can learn how to divide. First, you have to reciprocal the second fraction. This means you have to switch the denominator and the numerator. Then you multiply.
3/5 / 1/2 = ?
3/5 / 1/2 = 3/5 x 2/1 = 6/5 = 1 1/5
