In the beginning there was two types of water. One of the waters was named Tiamat. The other water was named Apsu.
Tiamat and her husband, Apsu, had many children. They were wild and upset their father.
Apsu decided to punish his children. Tiamat did not agree with this. The children did not want to be punished and went to another god, Ea, for help.
Ea went to Apsu and put him to sleep. Apsu never awoke again.
Ea had a son, Marduk. Marduk had power over the winds and was wild. He annoyed Tiamat and her children.
Tiamat and her children decided to punish Marduk. She turned into an ugly monster and took her new husband, Qingu, with her.
