Storyboard Text

  • Raina the Raindrop is going on a trip with her mother to a new place. They are using the water cycle to get there.
  • Mom! I'm ready to go on our trip. I will definitely miss this ocean.
  • Okay, Raina sweetheart. The sun is coming out. We will be transported to a new place through...THE WATER CYCLE!!! I will explain each step of the cycle to you!
  • Evaporation turns a liquid (water) into a gas (water vapor) using solar energy from the sun.
  • We are evaporating Raina. We will soon turn into a gas (water vapor). Stay calm.
  • What's happening? I'm really hot!  Are we floating! Oh man, I'm getting air sick!
  • Condensation is the change from a gas phase into liquid phase.  In this stage, energy is released.
  • I'm here Raina! We are now condensing . We have traveled with millions of raindrops on this journey. Together, we will all create a rain cloud. We will be up here for some time till the cloud has enough water molecules.
  • What's going on! Mom, I can't see you! Are you there?
  • Precipitation is a product of water vapor that is condensed that falls under gravity. Theyhave turned from a gas to a solid (sublimation).
  • Raina, look we're now ice crystals!  We are now in the stage of precipitation. When the air gets warmer, we'll turn into raindrops again!
  • AAAHHHH!!! We're falling.
  • I'm going to die!!!
  • The air gets warmer, and Raina and her mother start to melt back into their liquid form using the solar energy from the sun once again.
  • Yay!!! We're heading towards a river!
  • We're back in liquid form. Say hi to our new home Raina!
  • They arrive in their new home and start to "go with the flow" of the river.
  • Those are the main stages of the water cycle, Raina. The ones we went through are evaporation, condensation, and precipitation. We are now in a river, and all rivers lead to the ocean!
  • I wonder where we will go next.
