It all started when Daisy was waiting at the London airport for her Aunt Penn to pick her up and bring her to her cousins house. But her 14 year old cousin, Edmond showed up instead. Surprisingly, he drove here.
When they got home, Aunt Penn had to go to Oslo, and the kids would be left alone. Osbert (16) is the oldest, and there's Issac (15), Edmond (14), and Piper (9). They had two dogs Jet and Gin. The house was an old barn.
It's been weeks since Aunt Penn left for Oslo, and she never came back. There has been many bombings around them. Some soldiers found them and separated them to live with other families during the war. Daisy and Piper were grouped together and the boys were grouped together.
After a couple months and many deaths, Piper and Daisy decided to go find the boys. A guard named Baz packed some food and survival things for them since he knew it would be a long trip by foot.
After many day of walking to the house where the boys were, they found out that where they were staying was raided! Daisy saw 17 dead bodies lying around. She only hoped the boys made it out. They decided to walk to their original home out in the countryside and mourn.
After some time of staying home alone, Issac and Osbert walked through the door! He explained that he fled when he saw the enemy coming to raid, but Edmond didn't leave everyone behind, so Edmond stayed. He also explained that Edmond was taken by the enemy! Everyone hoped he was okay, weeks later Edmond came home, but unstable. It seemed he had been hurt during his stay with the enemy, and he was not talking. It would take lots of time to get him to be like he was again, so Daisy decided to stay with their family.
