  • Old Major inspired the idea for a revolution against the humans.  The animals developed a plan to kick out there owners, Mr. and Mrs. Jones. Unfortunately, Old Major passed away before the revolution.
  • Falling Action
  • The animals win the revolution and Mr. and Mrs. Jones leave the farm. The farm is renamed from Manor Farm to Animal Farm and the animals make the seven commandments. Many Animals start to learn to read and write. Two pigs named Snowball and Napoleon begin to compete for the power.
  • Conclusion
  • At a meeting Snowball suggests they should build a windmill. Napoleon disagrees and his dogs chase Snowball away from the farm. Napoleon then accuses many animals for helping the enemy and those animals are killed. Later, it is decided that the windmill should be built after all. 
  • All of the animals, especially a strong horse named Boxer, work hard on building the windmill. The windmill was destroyed twice, but the animals kept trying. The pigs make unfair rules and start to change the seven commandments.
  • The pigs invited the humans over.  They had a good time together and told one another that they now respected each other. The animals that were watching in the window saw a change. They realized that they could no longer tell the difference between the pigs and the humans.
