  • Let's create an act to overthrow the Missouri Compromise!
  • The Kansas-Nebraska Act is created, allowing residents of a state to determine slavery in that state.
  • We should be free of slavery!
  • Slavery is the only way the impure can receive fair punishment!
  • Two parties, one anti-slavery and one pro-slavery, are established. Tension arises in Kansas as the two sides engage in a fierce conflict.
  • 1855- The Sack of Lawrence: Over 1,000 Missourians threaten Kansas.
  • 1855- The Sack of Lawrence: Over 1,000 Missourians threaten Kansas.
  • 1855-1861: The fighting goes on for four months, after which the violence continues at a lower scale. In 1861, the conflict is resolved and Kansas becomes a free state.
