Storyboard Text

  • How The Periodic Table Changed Over Time
  • It's the year 1869. Dmitri Mendeleev has finished working on a big project...
  • It's finally finished....
  • The periodic table...I must show it to the world!
  • It is now the year 1913, 6 years after Mendeleev died. Henry Moseley takes a look at the periodic table...
  • It seems that the Father of the Periodic Table has organized his works in ascending order of atomic mass, and has created groups and periods. Something doesn't seem quite right...
  • By: Alexandra Tutak
  • Moseley then changes the periodic table, by organizing them by atomic number.
  • That's it! Organizing the periodic table by atomic number makes much more sense than atomic mass!
  • It is now 1930, 15 years after Moseley died. Glenn Seaborg took a look at the adjustments...
  • Mendeleev's and Moseley's periodic table is near perfect...but too long. I know! I should put the Lanthanides and Actinides on the bottom, to shorten it.
  • The periodic table has been adjusted and is one part of the world of chemistry.
