Tyger Tyger, burning bright,/ In the forests of the night.
/ What immortal hand or eye, /Could frame thy fearful symmetry?
in what furnace was thy brain?/ What the anvil? what dread grasp,/ Dare its deadly terrors clasp!

Did he who made the Lamb make thee?
The purpose of the poem is the continuous thought of the poem The Lamb. Though the other poem is about the innocence of a small creature it brings up more of the same question, who made who? The person who asked the question ends up answering it itself. of the theory that the same god that made the innocent lamb that represents a boy is the same God who made a scary and evil-eyed "tyger" as well.
