  • Thomas Paine has finally finished his work titled Common Sense in January of 1776, which soon sells 500,000 copies and influences the signing of the Declaration.

  • Thomas Jefferson on his way to Philadelphia to meet the other members of the Continental Congress after Common Sense became well-known.
