Christopher was overwhelmed when he first entered the tunnel because of all the people entering and leaving. Thus he covered his ears to block out all the noise. He also told himself to find someplace to sit down and calm down because of all the chaos that is happening in the tunnel.

Christopher calmed down by finding a seat in a corner of a café. He then calmed himself down by doing a math problem called Conway soldiers. He made the problem as big and complicated as he wanted, so he didn't have to think about anything else. He did this for 2 1/2 hours and was completely detached from the outside world.

After Christopher got his ticket he walked into the tunnel at the train station he imagined a big red line in front of him which told him where he needed to go. He also said left and right depending on the direction he needed to go. This helped him calm down and focus because saying things in a rhythm helps Christopher in scary situations.

Christopher went on the train but he didn't like it because there were a lot of people on board. He also thought about all the places that all the trains went to in the world and that they passed by many people and pets with names who did different things at different times. Because he was thinking about too many things at once his head started to hurt, so he did math problems to calm down.
Christopher had to go to the bathroom on the train, but it was unsanitary and he didn't like it. He also didn't want to go back out there because the policeman might make him back to his father, so he hid in a confined area which felt safe. He also couldn't hear people talking which made him feel safe. He then did tough math problems to detach himself from the situation.
Christopher had just got off the train and was overwhelmed by all the people in the room and all the noise. He made a red line for himself to get to London, but he was blocked by a police officer. Then he leaned against a sign in the middle of the room, and saw a sign with lots of words. However, after looking at it for a few seconds the words became distorted which frightened him and his brain wasn't working right. So he counted to 50 to calm down.
