Here we are outside an animal testing facility in New Zealand. To learn more about why 300,000 approx. animals are needed each year for animal testing.
Here we are inside the animal testing facility in the room where they keep the animals in small cages when they aren't being tested on.
This is where the animal testing takes place. where they chain the animals to the benches so they can't move then they drip chemicals into their eyes and rub it all over their skin to see if the chemicals will react to their skin.
Thousands of animals die each year from animal testing in New Zealand, all because they can't be bothered using other methods for testing the chemicals.
For example another way of testing chemicals is vitro testing where they use a chip that has grown human cells in a system that mimics the structure and function of human organs and their systems and has been shown to be more accurate than animal testing.
Well did you know their is actually something you can do to help these poor animals? Come on let's get going.
