My culture's story board

  • Mom why do we pray to Hindu Gods? We all are Sikhs? Right? We should worship Sikh Gods.

  • Our culture has a very deep culture. My parents were both Hindus. That's why we worship Hindu gods. We Hindus worship Gods like Durga Mata, Shivshankar Bholenath etc. 
  • Can you explain a bit more?
  • Mahaendra and his family are praying to Durga Mata.(A Hindu Godess)
  • Oh OK. We believe that God is everywhere around us. We keep fasts, make special dishes etc. Like on Diwali we wear new clothes. Exchange sweets, Light Diyas. And on Lohri we do campfire with our relatives and friends, and exchange sweets. We believe that eating sweets makes our lives just like them - sweet.

  • Mahendra asks his mother a question while his starting the car.
  • We also believe that plucking Tulsi on Sundays would make the Tulsi Godess angry. Even if we pluck leaves from trees or plants at night we are not letting the tree or plant sleep. We are about reach the Gurudwara so this much for today.
