Storyboard Text

  • Advanced in years Abram had no children. So Sarai made a suggestion to continue the family. When Abram was 86 Hagar bore them a son who they called Ishmael. God the changed Abrams name to Abraham and Sarai's name to Sarah.
  • This is my Egyptian handmaid Hagar, she will be able to bear us a child.
  • Well, I think that is a great idea!
  • God was on his way to destroy Sodom because of its wickedness, but Abraham bargained with God on behalf of Lot, and God relented. He said that he would not destroy the city if there were just 10 good people, but there were not. God told Abraham to tell Lot to leave before it was destroyed.
  • Lot, you must leave this city now. God had warned me that he will soon destroy the city.
  • Thank you, God, I will tell my family and we will leave straight away.
  • A year later Sarah gave birth to Isaac but grew increasingly jealous of Hagar and Ishmael. Abraham relented and allowed Sarah to send them out into the wild. God saved Hagar and Ishmael and promised Ishmael he would father a great nation through 12 sons, to be the 12 Arab tribes.
  • We shall call him Isaac.
  • God asked Abraham to sacrifice his son. Abraham submitted even though he loved his son.
  • I am going to have to sacrifice you, my son, as a test of my faith to God.
  • At the last moment, God stopped Abraham and repeated his promises again.
  • You are safe, God has told me not to sacrifice you. Let's sacrifice this Ram instead.
  • The special relationship between God and Abraham was established, along with the Covenant. This was the start of the Hebrew nation, who were later known by the names of Israel, Israelites and the Jews.
  • I have faith in one God and his values.
