Storyboard Text

  • Exposition
  • Knock, Knock?!!!
  • Exposition- Conflict
  • You're never going be a comedian George!!!
  • Rising Action
  • You guys look weird!!!
  • There was a thirteen year old African american boy named George, who lived in a urban neighborhood in Chicago. His dream was to become a comedian like his role model Eddie Murphy and star in as many movies as he did.
  • Climax
  • I will become a comedian, I'll prove it!!!
  • The thing that's keeping George from accomplishing his dream are the people that are doubting he can even become a comedian. His sixteen year old brother Antonio doesn't think he can because he says people like you don't go far. The other person standing in his way is his bully, David. This makes George doubt himself.
  • Falling Action
  • You got this Georgie!!!
  • One day George and his friend Joy were walking in the hallway and were stopped by David, who has been picking on them lately. He started making fun of how short George was and how "different" Joy looked from everyone else in school. When George realized how he looked he started to wonder if short people can become comedians. But Joy didn't bother to worry about how she looked.
  • Resolution
  • Thank You very much!!!
  • George and his friend Joy, stand David for making fun of how they both look. After George stands up for himself he gets the courage to sign up for the talent show at his school to prove that he can become a comedian to not only Antonio but to his brother. Joy was surprised at Georges actions, but was very proud of him.
  • That same day George signed up for the talent show and practiced for the next four weeks. George tried so hard to prove those around him wrong. He rehearsed everyday after school with Joy in his room until he got every joke right.
  • I gotta get this right!!!
  • It's the night of the talent show and it starts at 7:00 and George is super nervous. He's the last one to go and gets a standing ovation. At the end of the competition after everyone has performed they announce George as the winner. Finally George had a chance to prove Antonio and David wrong who finally realize they've misjudged him. This was the encouragement that George has been looking for to believe in his dream.
