Assassin's Creed: Black Flag is a novel written by Oliver Bowden, released in the United Kingdom 2013. The novel focuses on the events of the game of the same name. It is the Golden Age of Piracy and the New World beckons. Edward Kenway the brash young son of a wool merchant dreams of gold and cannot resist the lure of a life of glory on the high seas. So he is drawn into the centuries old battle between Assassins and the Templars.
Edward met the Templars at the Docks in the next morning to meet a Sage named Roberts and escort him to the Governor's Mansion. During the journey to Torres Mansion, the group was attacked by Assassins, allowing the Sage to escape. He later claimed his promised reward, but was unhappy with it's quantity. Edward decided to free the Sage and find out more about the Observatory, hoping to make more money.
