Storyboard Text

  • Hmm...  I wonder who this Adam is.  But he says he can help me study for my science test tomorrow,  I think I'll accept.
  • This test is on the history of the atomic theory and I need lots of help.
  • It starts with John Dalton.  He says that all matter is made up of atoms.
  • And all atoms of an element are alike, but they are different from other elements.
  • Alright, this is starting to make sense.
  • Now, JJ Thompson adds to this growing theory. That atoms are made up of smaller
  • particles.  Such as positive protons and negative neutrons.
  • Oh! Like protons and electrons?
  • Exactly!  Now, Ernest Rutherford discovered that atoms have a nucleus.
  • He also agreed about protons.  He added that they were found in the nucleus.
  • What about neutrons? Has anyone discovered them?
  • Well, those aren't found until later. Although, Neils Bohr discovered that electrons
  • circle aroumd the nucleus in an electron cloud.
  • Is there any more I should know?
  • There's the current atomic theory. It agreed with all of those theories. Now this is where
  • neutrons are added as uncharged particles in the nucleus.
