Storyboard Text

  • Student - During my first small group lesson, we had a really thought-provoking discussion about stereotypes prior to reading the selected article and writing our essays.  
  • Teacher - Ms. Stephens has been such a source of inspiration, and my number one when I need advice on anything and everything.  Working with her this year has been a pleasure.
  • Text - The students really liked A Whistling Good Idea, and thought it was an interesting text.  Many of them even came up with their own ideas for Rube Goldberg Machines after reading!
  • Task - The students are currently working on a novel and the parts of a story. This was a great time to break down those necessary skills and use a story map to check their comprehension of a text.

  • Setting
  • Resolution
  • Context - Overall, my lesson went really well.  The only thing I would have changed during the lesson would have been my timingduring the vocab.  I had I not spent so much time, we would have had more time to go over the comprehension questions on the back. 
  • But at the end of the day, I walked away feeling good, and like I had accomplished a productive lesson!
