Sometimes, Sadie would think back to what her life was like back in Stryj up to when she was 16 years old, and her old neighbors back home.
This might come as a surprise to you, but as you know, my family owns a little shop but it seems as if it is going under...
Are people stealing from the shop? How horrid! Does that mean you are moving?
With all of the anti-semitism from the National Democratic Party, it's really hitting us hard. We are seriously condsidering a migration to the U.S., as is most of my family.
Me too, except my family is too poor to own a business. Nonetheless, I feel so threatened... I even slept with a brick by my bedside just in case anyone enters my house. I think my family and I are just about to pick up our things and leave any day now...
I am so glad I migrated here. I am so grateful for this new life I have created for myself and the new opportunities I have been granted. I know that from here there is no where to go but up!
And this was very well the case, as the Cold War was in full swing. Had Sadie been there she would have been living a drastically different life, one that would have rewritten her personal history!
