Storyboard Text

  • Today I'm going to be teaching you about positive feedback and the importance of it. So,Your friend is in labor and you're wondering how their body can take that much pain and be able to birth their own child.
  • Today I'm going to be teaching you about positive feedback and the importance of it.
  • The release of oxytocin from the posterior pituitary gland during labor is an example of a positive feedback mechanism.
  • Today I'm going to be teaching you about positive feedback and the importance of it.
  • The receptor receives something that tells it the environment is changing and that would be you body beginning to dilate for labor. The afferent neurons carry the impulse to the brain to acknowledge the change.
  • Then the control center receives and processes the information from the receptor, which would be the process of realizing your body is going into labor.
  • Lastly the effector responds to the control center by enhancing the stimulus that would be sent by the efferent neurons, which would be an increase in the amount of hormones to birth the child.
  • Now that's how a positive feedback happens internally!
