  • The Black Cat By: Edgar Allan Poe
  • The Speaker is struggling with his sanity. He hates the cat even though it did nothing to him, hes extremely angry at it. This is an example of an internal conflict, Man vs. Self.
  • Are you alright?
  • Next time I see that cat im going to kill it!!!!!
  • Conflict
  • The Speaker loves his cat at first but then starts to hate it for no reason at all and kills it but then finds another cat that he likes and later starts to feel the same way about it.
  • Rising Action
  • The speaker kills his wife when she trys to stop him from killing the second cat they got.
  • Climax
  • The Speaker quickly walls up his wife to hide the evidence. The speaker sees no sign of the cat and assumes it disappeared.
  • Falling Action
  • The speaker is enjoying life now that the cat is nowhere to be found and his wife is gone. Eventually people figure out that his wife is missing and sends cops over to search the house. The speaker is so pleased with himself at the good job he did walling up his wife, he descides to brag about it and tap it with a cane, but instead heres a high moun and the cops tear down the wall to find the wifes corpse and the cat the speaker thought dissapeared.
