My name is Harold i'm a 22 year old office worker. Today i'm in a particularly bad mood today because of what happened when i went to the bank this morning.
First Street Bank
See when I was 18 I was going to college and took out a 80,000 dollar student loan debt. I figured that the deal I got from my bank was pretty sweet. 40 years to pay it back, low monthly payment of $166.66. The line of work I was going into paid 15 dollars an hour. Unfortunately i had glossed over some important info.
Or the fact that interest gets much worse during 40 year loans
Like the fact that the interest was 8%
Or that 12% of my paycheck gets taxed
Or that only a small percentage of what i pay goes to my principal
Or the fact that paying more than the minimum balance can lighten the amount of interest you're paying
