They both very excited until the conversation transpires into something that the two didn't like. "Something tells me that we're going to be great friends," said Gwendolen. With only knowing Cecily for a few seconds Gwendolen already wants to be friends but these new friends have something in common that throws their cheerfulness off.
As the Scene continues on, Gwendolen is not as happy as she was when she first came in. As Cecily says that she Mr.Worthing's ward, Gwendolen said,"Oh! it is strange he never mentioned to me that he had a ward." The conversation begins to shift in while other mood, Both realize they have something in common High makes their mood decrease even more then What it just did.
AS conversation escalates, Gwendolen finds out some new from her new bestfriend which she didn’t want to find out. This scene shows how both are wildly confused and how they share the same man. Until Cecily heard Ernest come out of Earnest mouth. She was very confused” I peg your pardon,Gwendolen, did you say Ernest?” Once this was said they both got discouraged about eachother possible being friends.
