  • Hey Penguin! Can you tell me how bills become laws?
  • Sure Corgi, I know a lot about this!
  • So, first the bill is introduced and there is the first reading. They debate and vote and if they vote no, the bill goes to the bin, if they yes, they carry on with the process
  • Next, there are the select committee group who study the bill. A group of mp's (member of parliament) usually just study a particular issue of the bill
  • Wow! Interesting!
  • This is very interesting
  • Then there's the house committee, this is when they see how the bill would effect the future.
  • Next is the second reading, this is when the draft of the bill is read for the second time.
  • The next stage is the third reading, this is when the members read the bill once more and must decide whether a bill should be adopted
  • After all of that, the Governor General signs the bill into law!
  • Itv was a pleasure Corgi!
  • Wow, thank you so much Penguin!
