Elizabeth was born in 1533, in London into the family of King Henry the eighth and Queen Anne Boleyn, with her half sister Mary the first. Sadly, her mother was beheaded when she was only 2.
Elizabeth is well known for bieng the ruler during the Golden Age and for all that the conditions she had been in. For example, her sister locked her in the tower of London during her reign.
She was known as "The Virgin Queen"because she never got married, and she also never had any children! Also she was the ruler when Shaekspeare became popular!
She was important because she wanted to become powerful, so she didn't marry to gain power. She learned that from her father because her father killed her mother.
One controversial thing that Elizabethy the 1st said was that thier is only one Jesus Christ. Also some Catholics were Procecuted during her reign of power.
Her long lasting contribution was being the ruler during the golden age. If she had been a bad ruler, the golden age probably would have never been the same.
