Photosynthesis and respiration
This storyboard does not have a description.
Mrs. Kelly what is photosynthesis?
Photosynthesis is when plants get ATP energy from absorbing sunlight, water, and carbon dioxide
The first step in the process is light dependent reaction, this is when energy from the sun is converted into ATP energy.
in return plants give back oxygen to other living things
Plants also produce glucose that is in most foods. Glucose is made when chemical reactions mix carbon dioxide and other compounds together. This is called light independent reaction.
Glucose is also important in cellular respiration.
Cellular respiration gives animals more ATP energy when they are tired. Oxygen is the other important ingredient because that’s what we need to breathe. All the nutrients glucose, oxygen, and water all go to the mitochondria, that creates energy
Wait...Then what is cellular respiration?
In return, we give back carbon dioxide to plants so they can start the process of photosynthesis again
