Governmental agencies such as the National Environmental agencies can launch campaigns to reduce food wastage by partnering with super markets to encourage consumers to buy "Ugly Food".
PURCHASE UGLY FOOD!
Super markets can trim and repackage ugly produce and sells them at a cheaper price. Retailers can also put up posters to debunk the myths associated with ugly food and assure consumers that they are just as nutritious.
SALE!! I might look different but i taste just as good!
UGLY FOOD JUST AS GOOD!
This will encourage Singaporeans to be more accepting towards ugly food. Retailers will also be less likely to discard the ugly food if consumers are more accepting and willing to purchase them. This will significantly reduce food wastage overtime.
When consumers become more accepting of the food they buy, less food waste is produced. Win-Win solution! Consumers get cheap produce and there is less food wastage.
