Storyboard Text

  • ASK ME!
  • I want to study in a safe and inclusive environment
  • Please call me "Bill"
  • My pronouns are he, him
  • The topic of gender identity is highly charged. By watching the video, my eyes were opened to many issues that I never really thought about in the context of LGBTQ
  • Discussion
  • Everyone brings a different set of experiences to the discussion that influence their thoughts.
  • How I learned: The video introduced thought provoking concepts. Opening my mind to the topic at hand. What I learned: Through disucussion with the group I learned why some individuals find the topic of gender identity difficult to talk about. Through good facilitation of the discussion the group was able to stay on topic.
  • As a professor we need to provide a safe and inclusive environment to learn. This will enable all students to focus on their academics (not personal concerns).
  • Stop and ask "What do you prefer"
