Winston is the member of the outer circle and he works for the ministry of truth, the government's propaganda center. He has conflicting feelings and beliefs about the party and he shows this through rebellious acts

Winston receives a note from Julia, claiming she loves him. Curiosity gets the better of him and he decides to find out more about her. They eventually manage to meet in the night, and soon begin a love affair.
they are relaxing in the room above Mr. Charrington's shop, after just having read the book they received from a man named O'brien. The peace inside the room is quickly interrupted, due to startling noises coming from a hidden telescreen and then, suddenly, members of the Thought Police storm into the room
They are brought to the ministry of love and tortured by O'brien, he is tortured through his greatest fear rats. He was tortured until he threw Julia under the bus, hence making him completely brainwashed
We see Winston sitting in a cafe and he had just accidentally reunited with Julia; they had both changed radically.
he now has genuine love for Big Brother. Winston and Julia are proof that the Party does have power over your feelings; they will break you, at any cost necessary.
