The business continued to grow and a farm and a cannery was built in Wahiawa
In 1922 Dole bought the entire island of Lana'i and created the worlds largest pineapple plantation in the world
Castle & Cooke purchase A 21% interest in Doles company in 1932
In its peak years, Dole grew 75% of the world's pineapple supply
life on the plantation was hard for workers starting at 6 and ending at 4:30 while only making 20 dollars a month
