Storyboard Text

  • Honey, are you feeling okay? You can always speak to me and no matter what I will support you.
  • Thanks, mom. I just haven't been feeling very well and I think that I should see a therapist.
  • To help with your bipolar disorder, you can try many different natural therapies. Make sure to eat a healthy diet and remember to take your dose of mood stabilisers.
  •  This is Avery. She is a 15-year-old girl who has recently been experiencing symptoms of bipolar disorder. For a whole week, Avery barely got any sleep since she had so much energy, and wanted to get all her work done. Suddenly, her mood had switched from very active to depressed and she felt worthless, useless and sad. Her mother had noticed this oddly instant change and decided to speak to her.
  • Avery had decided to speak to her mom about how she had been feeling really depressed, and how weird it was that her mood had changed so suddenly. Her mother had lifted her spirit and made her feel better since she was caring for Avery. Her mother also offered support and advice as well as setting up an appointment with a therapist so that Avery could speak to a professional and get help.
  • Avery had gone and seen the therapist which had been a big help for her mental health. The therapist had given her many medications that she had to take in order to get her mood stabilized as well as many natural therapies that would help with the prevention of a mania episode. Although there is no cure, there are many ways in which Avery can control her mood so that it does not affect her daily life. \
