Storyboard Text

  • The PH scale is a very important scale used to measure acidity. The PH scale range goes from 1-14 . 1 being highly acidic and 14 being highly alkaline .
  • That was a very good movie. Now I really understand what the ph scale means and how acid rain affects us.
  • I agree!! How does acid rain happen tho?
  • Acid rain is caused by emissions of sulphur dioxide and nitrogen oxide, which react with the water molecules in the atmosphere to produce acids.
  • Thats true too!
  •  But I remember hearing air pollution from the burning of fossil fuels is the major cause of acid rain?
  • What are the effects of acid rain on humans ?
  • Also if you accidentally drink acid rain it can cause brain damage over time.
  • Acid rain makes lakes and rivers acidic. which isnt good for the wildlife in and and the people who swim in it.
  • A great way to reduce acid rain is to produce energy without using fossil fuels.
  • Because nitrogen oxides are created in the process of burning coal and other fossil fuels, some power plants can change the way they burn coal.
  • Thanks for helping me learn more about acid rain and the effects of it!!
  • No problem amy!
