• ﻿GRAVITY AND STATIC FRICTION
• It is called GRAVITY! I think we need to take a break and have a science lesson.
• Why Is the ball still in the air?
• Duh of course! Gravity is holding the ball in the air but at some point it comes back to the ground.
• Now do you understand what is happening on the screen?
• Bella, do you get this example of static friction?
• CRASH
• Uh no.
• Uh no I don't get this at all.
• Gravity keeps all of the planets in orbit around the sun. Gravity also keeps things on Earth. That's why the ball came back down! Does that make sense now?
• Yes I do.
• BOOM
• Okay so, static friction is when 2 objects don't move. They stay in the same spot. Thats why when you go sledding, you stop at the end because that is when static friction is used.
• Bella has learned what gravity is and how it works! It might take people longer to let this stuff sink in their head but you learn something new everyday right!
• THE END
• OH NO! Static friction helped this car from sliding any further. The wheels were rolling not sliding.
• Static friction can occur in a lot of places that you wouldn't think it would occur. Bella is still learning and learning everyday. Static friction is helpful in everyday use because it stops everything from sliding!
