Storyboard Text

  • Yes sir!
  • I need you two to go to Mississippi. You need to bring some men and supplies. There should be a water route across North America.
  • We need to follow this water route.
  • My name is Lewis, and this is Clark. We were wondering if you would like to go with us and travel towards the Pacific ocean?
  • My name is Sacajawea, and yes I will gladly go with you.
  • Thomas Jefferson told Lewis and Clark to get some men and go explore the Lousiana purchase. They also had to record everything that they discovered, and report it back to him.
  • They went on this water route thinking it would lead to North America but little did they know there wasn't one that went across America.
  • We finally made it!
  • We should leave after winter, so we can get home.
  • On the way there, they met an Shoshone Indian named Sacajawea.  She helped them translate with other Native Americans they ran into.
  • Here is our journal of everything we have discovered.
  • Thank you, I appreciate it.
  • During their adventure, they encountered many hardships including bear attacks, starvation, and aggressive Native Americans.
  • After 18 months and almost 4,000 miles, they finally made it to the Pacific ocean. They stayed there during the winter and then headed back east, returning in September 1806.
  • Lewis and Clark collected valuable information about people, plants, animals, and the geography of the of the West. Most importantly, their journey inspired people to move west.
