General Themistocles put the Persian fleet into the Strait of Salamis because he thought that the heavy Persian ships would move together making the battle easier for the Greeks.

The Persians set up camp in the plains in Plataea while Greek set up in Mt. Cithaeron. For a couple days, the Spartans, Teageans, and Athenians fought against the Persian army for days. The outcome of the battle was that the Greeks were victorious.
