Dr logan campbell owned part of the northshore, But then the stratford family bought it off him then sold it to Mrs Hammond.
In 1876 Peter Brown bought the 186 acres of land of Mrs Hammond
Peter Brown the built his house on what is now clyde road and anzac road.But they house was destoryed in 1930 by a fire.
With no school in Browns Bay,A part time one was started in a small building on hyde road.There had to be atleast 10 children attending to keep it open.
In the 1900's hoilday makers began to travel to Browns Bay via steamer
