Storyboard Text

  • Shell forming animal populations are decreasing because ocean acidification is depleting the compounds needed in shell production.
  • If  animals that  produce shells begin to decrease, the animals   that eat the shells for food will also decrease.
  • The whole sea food chain will be destroyed if animal populations begin to decrease.
  • In the north and south polar regions, plankton    and other animals that help the environment    are dying due to the CO2
  • Coral reefs give protection to tropical and subtropical  regions  throughout the world but this will continue to disappear   with an increased rate in   erosion.
  • Not only is life in the ocean effected, life on land is also heavily effected by ocean acidification. Food chains  are destroyed and animal populations decrease.
