infomercial about capitalism
Teen: Hey mom! Guess what I learned about in school today. Mom: What? Teen: I learned all about Capitalism. Mom: Hmm, I don't know much about that. Can you explain it to me? Teen: Of Course! I would love to!!
Teen: Let's start in the kitchen. Everything you bought in here has to do with capitalism. Capitalism is an economic-political system in which private citizens are free to go into business for themselves, to produce whatever they choose to produce, and to distribute what they produce. Mom: Wow! I had no idea.
Mom: So where can I find some examples of capitalism? Teen: Everywhere you look! The United States is a Capitalistic society. Everything we do has something to do with capitalism. Like this grocery store, for example.
Teen: As you can see, people are buying what they want. There are multiple brands that people can choose from. Capitalism allows for competition unlike monopolies. We have the choice to choose whatever we want to buy. Mom: Does that mean I can choose to buy bread from Trader Joe's and buy chips from HEB? I'm not being forced to buy a specific type of bread or chips from just one store? Teen: That's exactly right!
Mom: Well thank you for teaching me about capitalism! Teen: No problem! I had fun. If you ever need to know more about communism, let me know!
