  • what's the nervous system?
  • Today class, we will be learning about the  nervous system. 
  • Well, the nervous system is part of the brain.  It's responsible for sending signals to the body on how to react.
  • oh so if you move your leg, your brains responsible for it moving?
  • well, kind of. In this example, lets say you were playing kick ball, you know that you would have to kick the ball, so the brain sends a signal to you leg in order for it to move or kick the ball.
  • I'm still lost.
  • Oh, I think I get it.
  • The nervous system is made up of a collection of nerves called neurons
  • The nervous system is responible for reactions that the body has
  • the nervous is made up of two components, the central nervous system and the peripheral nervous system.
  • it is made up of the brain, spinal cord and nerves
  • The nervous system, specialized for the conduction of impulses, allows rapid responses to environmental stimuli. 
  • The nervous system of the cnidarian is a squid looking cell that helps the nervous system work.
  • "A nervous system can be defined as an organized group of cells, called neurons, specialized for the conduction of an impulse—an excited state—from a sensory receptor through a nerve network to an effector, the site at which the response occurs."
