The southern view on slavery is basically that they think it's so beneficial for their "culture" that they want to keep it and even expand it
The Northerners were very ANTI- slavery unlike the South of course. The North was what we consider a "free state". At one period of time slaves from the South would escape from the South to the North to be considered "free". The Abolition movement which started in the 1830's was a movement were some southeerns thought it would be best to emancipate slavery to prevent further revolts and they started to create more movements to further the emancipation
The North and South have always been very different from each other, from slavery issues to government. The South basically used "states' rights" to protect their thinking and the things that they do. The North benefited very much from the protective tariffs. The North Purchased their raw materials and turned them into Manufactured goods ," By 1828, foreign manufactured goods faced high import taxes. Foreign raw materials, however, were free of tariffs." " Thus the domestic manufacturing industries of the North benefited twice."
